Industry leading manufacturer in near north Chicago suburb is seeking a Payroll / HR Administrator to join our HR team. While primary responsibilities for this position are for payroll administration, there are plenty of other opportunities to contribute to HR operations and projects. This is an on-site position in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of onsite weekly and bi-weekly payroll administration in accordance with company policies, practices, and procedures as well as federal and state regulations.
- Investigate and resolve all employee questions / concerns regarding payroll
- All 401k administration (employee contributions, company match, compliance testing, etc)
- Reconcile PTO plans
- Payroll related tax returns, tax payments, and W2 processing
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and audits
- Complete verification of employment requests
- Maintain integrity of voluntary deductions for employees on leave
- Maintain accurate records within HRIS system and prepare any necessary reports.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and employment laws and regulations, as well as recommend payroll process improvements and best practices
- Contribute to HR operations through assigned task / project completion
- Assist HR team to develop and implement HR policies and trainings
- Participate in facilitating company events
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Three to five years payroll experience in a manufacturing environment required, two plus years HR Administrator experience preferred
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and Access
- Solid knowledge of Federal/State laws as they pertain to payroll administration and HR, including defined compensation
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Recruitment experience preferred
- Quick learner
- Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow up skills
