Advance Design Consultants in San Jose is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our San Jose Office. Our practices offer projects of all sizes. Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:
- Performs analysis, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems calculations, California T-24 energy calculations.
- Prepare design documents for small to medium heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing systems, fire protection systems, laboratory and process piping and controls.
- Analyze problems to see how mechanical systems work and might help solve a particular problem.
- Design or redesign mechanical systems or subsystems, using analysis and computer-aided design. Prepare computerized CAD drawings of mechanical systems.
- Investigate existing mechanical systems deficiencies or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and to recommend remedies.
- Oversee the installation of mechanical equipment and systems. Like other engineers, mechanical engineers use computers extensively.
- Mechanical engineers are routinely responsible for the integration of sensors, controllers, and equipment. Computer technology helps mechanical engineers create and analyze designs, run simulations and test how the equipment is likely to work and interact with connected systems.
- Prepare and coordinates and revises construction documents.
- Prepares, develops, and edits mechanical specifications.
- Visits construction sites as required for observation, answer contractor questions, or representing the owner in preparing punch lists.
- Prepares Construction Administration (CA) field observation reports.
- Refines and further develops design concepts given by others.
- Presents engineering design solutions to design review committees.
- Follows and enforces quality control procedures.
- Coordinates with consultants in other trades.
- Coordinate LEED design documents.
An ideal candidate has:
· 7+ years of AE Mechanical Engineering experience; Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Experience in health, federal, high-technology, bio-pharmaceutical and commercial projects preferred.
· PE License preferred.
· LEED AP or LEED AP BD+C preferred.
· Has the strong ability to manage own time based on directions given.
· Ability to multi-task under rigid deadlines.
· High proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD programs.
· Recent employment history must include architectural engineering or consulting engineering firm experience.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite(with advanced knowledge of Word and Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in dealing with internal and external clients
