Personal Injury/Workers' Compensation Paralegal Job Description
Plaintiff's personal injury/workers' compensation law firm is seeking to add an experienced Case Manager/Paralegal to our Savannah office. In this position, the paralegal would assist the firm in delivering legal support and exceptional customer service to clients at all times. Strong organizational skills are necessary for this position.
You would manage personal injury cases from beginning to end. Responsible for frequent client contact with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service. Assists and supports attorneys through all the phases of the case.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Receives and returns clients' calls, faxes, and emails.
- Completes intake and reviews intake documents to ensure all information necessary to open a case has been gathered.
- Responsible for generating required personal injury forms and documents through the Case Management program.
- Competent in revising or drafting documents as directed by supervising attorney, including, but not limited to, complaints, correspondence, demands, pleadings, and settlement documents in a timely fashion.
- Data Entry into Case Management program.
- Scanning files and saving documents into the Case Management program.
- Managing and interacting with clients.
- Keep thorough documentation of notes and complete various tasks as assigned by attorneys in a timely fashion.
- Manage the scheduling of attorney calendars by sending requests for client meetings, doctor meetings, depositions, mediations, hearings, etc.
- Manage the retrieval of necessary medical records by following procedures, documenting the record type, and time period for which records are needed.
- Maintain custody of the physical file. File and update records, correspondence, and file documents in an orderly and organized manner.
Skills Required:
- Preferred but not required: Certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal certification program of education and training, or an associate degree in paralegal studies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents, and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
