POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will oversee and ensure the efficient and safe functioning of processes related to manufacturing of products through this facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support production.
- Installation, characterization, configuration of manufacturing equipment.
- Training associates on manufacturing equipment and processes.
- Ensuring manufacturing equipment has a limited downtime and is maintained as required.
- Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems.
- Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers.
- Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.
- Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process.
- Research and purchase new manufacturing technology.
- Work closely with engineering and other departments in the development and research of the process and to review the work process for new jobs.
- Make recommendations for efficiencies in production to increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Understand ISO procedures and ensure that Corrective Action Reports (CAR) are completed as required. Conduct training on ISO procedures and re-training when procedures are not followed.
- Execute Lean and Six Sigma Projects as required by management.
- Other duties as assigned.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Act as a member of the Cascade System Technology team and attend and actively participate in requested meetings.
- Must follow all safety requirements, promptly report safety accidents and illnesses, and report potential safety issues, concerns and situations to supervisor or lead.
- Stay abreast of current industry technology, trends and knowledge and provide to the Company by sharing this information with the Company.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five (5) years or more of electronics manufacturing experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in related science field, preferably with an engineering focus or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Previous project management experience.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to establish and maintain positive and effective communications with other team members, customers, vendors and other third parties.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Oregon state safety laws and understand of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) principles.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must comply with standards set by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and be free from federal warrants and must not be on any Federal watch list.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
- Familiarity with ERP and MRP Systems.
- Ability to collaborate with and inspire all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn and utilize other Company software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent standing, walking and sitting.
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time.
