EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
NATURE OF WORK This is vehicle operation work in transporting passengers of a mass transit system.Work involves operating diesel powered passenger buses over prescribed fixed routes within assigned areas. Responsibilities include operating the vehicle carefully, safely, and within the prescribed time schedule. Work is performed within established rules and procedures with the utmost regard for the safety of the passengers, the general public, and all equipment. Work is reviewed by a superior through observation of work activities, and efficiency of operation procedures.ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS Operates a county passenger bus according to established routes and schedules; maintains records and logs on travel time, mileage, gas, purchases and passengers served.Monitors fare collections; issues bus transfers; provides general information to passengers.Takes vehicle to be serviced to a central servicing area for repairs and/or maintenance.Performs related work as required.
