Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery, following proper infection control protocols.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members during the procedure.
- Monitor and document vital signs of patients before, during, and after surgery.
- Assist with positioning and transferring patients on the operating table.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medical records related to surgical procedures.
- Provide excellent patient care and ensure patient safety throughout the surgical process.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
- Experience working in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Ability to analyze situations and make quick decisions in critical care settings.
- Proficiency in handling surgical instruments, sutures, and other equipment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with the surgical team.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift/move patients when necessary.
