Schedule: Full Time, 35 hours/week, approximately 3 days working onsite
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) is seeking a full-time Associate Content Producer to join the Social Media team. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Social Media and Content Marketing, this position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day ideation, creation, and implementation of social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Producing highly engaging, thoughtful, grammatically correct, and timely social media content in a small but mighty team of three, this position is pivotal in amplifying the SFMOMA brand by sharing and telling stories about our mission, exhibitions, and programs. Working in alignment with the Social Media Program Manager, the Associate Content Producer will work closely with other content producers throughout the museum in order to coordinate highly innovative content for a variety of social media posts and initiatives. The results of digital engagement tactics will be evaluated against marketing and communications goals, and community engagement and audience development objectives.
This position is part of the Social Media Team, which is one of four teams (Social, Web content, Web development, and Email) in the Digital Experience department.

Support the development and execution of the social media strategy.

Generate and execute ideas for digital story telling.

Write, edit, and produce content for social media platforms.

Understand social media and keep up to date with emerging trends.

Monitor tone of voice and have a keen understanding of audience.

Develop and oversee the social content calendar. Report out to museum-wide content groups.

Capture quick video and edit on the fly for social platforms.

Support social media channels in real time when needed, including community management.

Maintain SFMOMA's highly visible presence across multiple social media platforms and create cutting edge content.

Work closely with web content, editorial, communications, marketing, membership, education and other content producers to develop production calendars, implement campaigns, and coordinate distribution.

Define metrics to evaluate the success of digital engagement initiatives and dissemination plan for monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports.

Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent work experience.

Ideal candidate should have two (2) to four (4) years ideating, writing, and publishing social content, with an eye for storytelling and the ability to write engaging and nuanced copy. An interest in art history and modern and contemporary art is strongly preferred.

Strong copywriting and copyediting skills for social is a must.

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

Knowledge of and experience creating short-form video (Reels & TikTok) are a plus.

Interest, background, and knowledge of marketing and/or art history a plus.

Knowledge of or keen interest in learning modern and contemporary art and the SFMOMA collection.

Ability to communicate with wit and humor; ability to craft creative, intelligent, and engaging social media promotions; knowledge of Airtable and Asana, knowledge of PC-based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), graphic design is a plus.

Facility with social media programs (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn); social media analytics tools and Google Analytics; excellent administrative/organizational skills; concern for detail and accuracy; excellent language, spelling and grammar skills

Understanding of social guidelines and restrictions; excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public, artists, vendors, and museum staff at all levels.

Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality; ability to manage several projects simultaneously and maintain a sense of humor and grace under pressure.

Enthusiasm for handling a wide range of projects; ability to enliven and enrich SFMOMA events for online audiences by posting and sharing content live from select events and public gatherings, for example SF Pride Parade, exhibition openings, etc.
This is a union position subject to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
$30.54/hour (starting); $36.65/hour (position)
Please note that as of 7/1/24 the hourly rates will be adjusted to $31.46/hour (starting); $37.75/hour (position)
