JOB SUMMARY
Conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service for building operations..
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow Standardized Work Instructions
2. Painting and wall repair
3. Basic plumbing repairs, unclog drains, etc
4. Install conduit, terminal boxes and wiring for simple circuits to add receptacle circuits.
5. Maintenance of air compressors and air driers
6. MiG welding to repair items damaged around the plant
7. Use man-lifts, ladders, and be able to work at heights, on the roof and outside work
8. Must follow all OSHA and plant safety rules including, lock-out, etc.
9. Fabricating of scrap trays, chutes, and work benches
10. Supports the teams in operational improvement
11. Develops Standard Work Practices for repetitive maintenance items
12. Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment affecting building equipment, and performs scheduled maintenance and repairs of facility equipment during machine service
13. Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs
14. Performs basic maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic and troubleshooting and repair of systems.
15. Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
16. Any other duties deemed necessary or appropriate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. HS diploma/GED + advanced technical training in electrical, mechanical, and pneumatics.
2. Prefer USDOL Journeyman’s electrical certificate or equivalent work experience or skills training.
3. 5 years previous employment in a manufacturing environment – automotive preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Must be able to drive forklift and maintain certification.
2. Must be able to work at heights, working on overhead cranes, repairing ceiling lights, parking lot lights, wall packs and able to work in tunnels and pits.
3. Must have strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy objects.
4. Electrical 12 volt dc to 600 volt ac basic working knowledge.
5. Basic carpenter skills, painting, repair drywall, ceiling work, build offices;
6. Problem Solving – Recognize and solve the malfunctioning of building systems and provide input to repair.
