Position Title: Control Room Relief Operator
Plant Location: Bath, PA
Responsibilities:
· Understand and comply with all safety regulations, identify and correct safety hazards, participate in regular safety training, safety topic meetings and task training, and cooperate with all external inspectors as necessary.
- Operate and monitor the production process from the control room to ensure safe, efficient operation.
- Operate kiln system; coal; raw and finish mills; raw blending and storage systems; hazardous waste fuel systems; and any other related auxiliary equipment from control panels.
- Utilize computers in the central control room to start, stop, and make appropriate adjustments required to control and optimize the processes of the kiln, mills and other process equipment.
- Maintain and improve specified operating conditions and anticipate operational problems using charts, manuals, trend lines, monitors, instruments, indicators, process sensors, visual checks, etc.
- Monitor, adjust, and record the feed of alternate fuels to the kilns and maintain compliance with all solvent fuel regulations, permit parameters, and safety requirements.
- Retrieve and enter data into appropriate logs, reports, and spreadsheets.
- Work in conjunction with the lab to maintain proper chemistry and physical specifications of in-process and finished products.
- Direct shift personnel to troubleshoot operational problems.
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to work swing shifts.
- Must successfully complete on-the-job training, provided by the designated department supervisor or otherwise qualified employee.
- Ability to work different extended hours, holidays and/or overtime required.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to wear all MSHA safety equipment.
- Proper wear and use of respirator, when needed.
- Able to work when exposed to dust, noise, heat, high elevations, and all types of weather conditions.
- Able to climb steps, ladders, and traverse walkways (including catwalks) and work at high elevations.
- Good eyesight, hearing, and manual dexterity with both hands. Ability to distinguish between different colors for trends, alarms, etc.
- Able to stand on hard surfaces for longer periods of time or sit for prolonged periods.
Due to the nature of our operations, candidates must be able to work swing shifts, including afternoon and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. An understanding of, and commitment to, the highest standards for industrial workplace safety, environmental compliance, dependability, and professional workmanship is essential.
Starting pay: $34.05/hr. (plus shift differential when working 2nd or 3rd shift)
