Job Description
Lakes Depression Center is part of Lakes Psychiatric Center, an outpatient mental health office that provides comprehensive psychiatric and psychotherapy services for a vast array of mental health issues. We were established in 2014. Lakes Depression Center was started in 2019 and is hiring additional Registered Nurses.
Under the direction and supervision of the Medical Director and Staff Manager, you will perform specific patient care duties to meet the safety and comfort needs of the patient.
- Provides quality care that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and competently performs technical procedures and uses equipment properly.
- Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting and is responsible for continuing personal education, mentoring peers, and educating patients and families.
- Maintains current clinical practice knowledge.
- Participates in department-based activities, staff meetings, and committees.
Standard Qualifications:
Education, Licensure/Certification, and Training:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse License
- Current BLS Certification
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Good written and verbal communication skills to convey and receive information effectively (face-to-face, telephone, and electronic)
- Good analytical and judgment skills
- Ability to use computer software programs and systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients, personnel and/or financial data
- Excellent organizational skills to work independently, prioritize, handle multiple tasks and manage time
- Ability to work well on a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of and the ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements.
- Actively participate as a positive member of the clinic environment.
- Carry out other duties as assigned
We’re looking for someone who:
- Prefers a part-time schedule.
- Is excited to work in an outpatient setting.
To thrive in this role, you must be able to:
- Administer medications as ordered/prescribed by the psychiatrist
- Monitor behavioral patterns, medical symptoms, and physical symptoms related to dosage, as well as other symptoms related to drug use and mental health concerns
- Obtain vital signs

This job directly interfaces with patients, facilitating communications and interactions between the psychiatrist, nurse manager, nurses, nursing assistants, and drivers.
· Open 7 days a week
· Available shifts are scheduled between 9:00 am to 10:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 4:30 pm on weekends

Starting pay $40 an hour
