We are seeking a Preschool Teacher who will create a loving and safe environment for students in our preschool program. Teachers must prepare, set up, and implement activities for students each day. Individuals in this role are empathetic and compassionate and have many opportunities to be creative. As a team, preschool teachers, lead teachers, and teacher assistants work collaboratively with the support of the preschool director to meet each child’s unique needs. Each preschool classroom has between 12 to 18 students at a time from infants (3mo) to 5 years of age.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, a desire to teach God’s word in a loving and age-appropriate way, and will supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Our preschool program is year-round. Hours of operation are 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Preschool teachers may also, at times, be required to attend staff meetings and school-related events.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 12 ECE Units (Early Childhood Education)
- Personal testimony and commitment to the Christian faith
- Commitment to SJCS Statement of Faith, SJCS mission, and SJCS core values
- Commitment to faith integration (SJCS Throughlines) in all lessons and roles
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree or higher
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education
- Preschool teaching experience
- Team player, multi-tasker, flexible
Job Requirements:

- Able to sit, stand, lift and carry up to 30 lbs
- Plan, prepare, and set up daily activities
- Implement daily lessons
- Assist in keeping the classroom and storage area, neat, clean, and orderly
- Assist in diapering and potty training (if working with children under 2.5 years old)
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents, staff, and students
- Attend staff meetings and school-related events

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
