Summary / Objective
The job of Safety Compliance Manager oversees and manages the Company safety program across all divisions. The primary purpose of this position is to ensure standardization and continuity of the Company safety program, and adherence and compliance with standards and practices, across all divisions. The Safety Compliance Manager is responsible for safety program development, incident reporting and compliance, compliance with safety manual and work practices/requirements, and implementation of new safety related initiatives with divisional managers. It is critical to the success of the organization and the safety of employees and bystanders that the Safety Compliance Manager is an active part of the Field Operations department. The Safety Compliance Manager is also responsible for direct supervision of divisional managers.
Essential Job Functions
- Administration and implementation of the Company-wide safety program
- Review incident reports on any injury or near miss completed by divisional manager
- Submit annual incident reporting requirements with relevant agencies and entities
- Maintain Company safety manual, work practices, safety guidelines and compliance with health and environmental requirements
- Drive implementation and execution of company safety manual, work practices, and compliance with health and environmental requirements with divisional manager
- Direct and conduct periodic safety inspections with divisional managers
- Create, direct and maintain initial training for new employees and monthly training for all field and shop employees in coordination with divisional managers
- Maintain awareness with industry standards for applicable scopes of work and industries across all divisions and make recommendations on any improvements necessary
- Select and designate approved company personal protective equipment for employees
- Create and direct fall protection training for employees with divisional managers
- Monitor and maintain employee safety-related certifications in coordination with divisional managers and determine proper certifications required for scope of work
- Oversee program for regular safety inspections for company issued personal protective equipment
- Ensure all subcontractors have proper safety training when working at divisional offices and plants in coordination with divisional managers
- Maintain third-party safety evaluation websites and programs for company compliance
- Maintain customer safety prequalification paperwork as appropriate
- Supervise and direct managers on divisional responsibilities and oversee accountability
- Safety Compliance Manager may also share divisional responsibilities for their Division

Work Environment
This position works in an indoor office setting. This position may however be required to enter a shop area or perform site visits periodically in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.
Physical Demands
This position may require employee to sit at a computer station/desk for prolonged periods of time up to 8 hours a day. The employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete documentation required for position. Employee must be able to use hands and fingers to operate keyboard and phone and to file and operate office equipment. This position may require some walking, bending, reaching and standing.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 1 hour lunch as scheduled with management. This position may require hours beyond the standard working hours listed above to satisfy job duties and department demand.
Travel
Travel is required for this position.
Required Education, Experience & Clearances
- Bachelor’s degree in safety related field
- 2 years’ experience with safety management/compliance
- GSP certification
- Valid Driver’s License & Evidence of Ability to Insure
- Criminal Justice Background Check (state and federal)
- Drug Test (5-panel)
- E-Verify
- Ability to legally rent a vehicle from contracted rental car company
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in safety related field
- CSP certification
- Field construction means and methods background
- Supervisory experience
- OSHA/ANSI Fall Protection standards knowledge
