Front Counterman Job Description
At Kerry's Lawn and Garden, a Front Counterman is responsible for customer relations for all parts, service, and new equipment needs. On a Day to day basis a Front Counterman will be looking up parts for customers, starting shop jobs for incoming repairs, billing customers out for completed repairs, and sales of new equipment. In addition to the main functions of this position each member of our team will have other daily duties as well, such as restocking parts, minor warehousing duties, like unloading a truck, and setup/adjustments of new equipment. Your assigned daily duties may change as needs and personnel change. We are a small team everyone pitches in to make sure all of our work is complete and customers stay satisfied and keep coming back. You will be reporting to the Parts Manager for day to day business questions and pop up tasks that need completed, and to the General Manager for all HR related questions, or in the event the parts manager is not available.
This is a Full Time position. The schedule is 8 Hours Monday through Friday (Occasionally 9-10 Hours as needed for vacations, spring busy season, etc.) with 2+ 4 HR Saturday mornings required monthly, Approximately 45-50 hours weekly. Starting Salary for this position is $18/hr + Commissions or Determined on Experience.

Requirements:
1. 2+ Years Prior Parts Department, Sales, or service experience preferred
2. Basic Understanding on internal combustion engines, and general mechanics
3. Ability to Lift 75lbs
4. Computer Proficiency, some knowledge of word and excel needed, in depth training on our system provided
5. Ability to stand for a 8 hour shift if required
6. Complete availability for scheduled shifts: We are a small business every member of our team is essential for operation, and is expected to be available for their scheduled shifts.
Daily Responsibilities:
1. Accurately look up and sell parts to customers over the counter
2. Start incoming shop jobs for customers bringing in machines, documenting the customers complaints and asking additional questions to help diagnose
3. Ringing out customers picking up completed shop jobs, and grab and go items and accessories
4. Selling new equipment to walk in customers
5. Helping state or large business customers that requires quotes and P.O.s for all parts/sales orders. Usually done through email correspondence
6. Opening and Closing duties depending on daily schedule
Other Responsibilities:
1. Receiving parts/billing shop jobs, and setting up new equipment as needed
2. Locating New stocking parts that do not have a location
3. Random Inventory Cycle Counts
4. Maintaining Appearance of the Harrisburg Branch
5. Other Duties as assigned
