We are seeking a highly motivated sales professional to oversee the sales strategy and operations to achieve the company’s revenue growth.,
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Strategy and Planning:
· Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to maximize revenue growth and market penetration.
· Identify and prioritize target markets, segments, and key accounts to focus sales efforts effectively.
· Analyze market trends, competition, and customer needs to develop sales strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
· Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, sales finance, product development, and other functional leaders at Primal to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
Sales Team Leadership:
· Lead, manage, develop, and motivate a high-performing sales team, including sales managers and representatives.
· Set clear sales targets, quotas, and performance goals for the team and ensure they are consistently met or exceeded.
· Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance the sales team's skills and performance.
· Foster a positive and collaborative sales culture that encourages teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Retail Channel Management:
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including pet supply stores, pet specialty retailers, and online marketplaces.
· Collaborate with retail partners to drive sales growth through effective merchandising, promotional activities, and product placement strategies.
· Monitor and analyze retail channel performance, including sales data, market share, and customer feedback, to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
· Develop and implement effective channel-specific sales and marketing programs to drive product adoption and increase sales.
Sales Operations and Analytics:
· Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and resource allocation to optimize sales performance and operational efficiency.
· Implement and utilize sales enablement tools, CRM systems, and data analytics to track sales progress, measure performance, and make data-driven decisions.
· Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify opportunities, adjust strategies, and drive continuous sales improvement.
· Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales metrics, KPIs, and other relevant sales performance indicators to senior management.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
· Collaborate closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, operations, HR and finance, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
· Provide input and feedback on product development, pricing, and marketing strategies to address customer needs and enhance sales effectiveness.
· Participate in executive leadership meetings and contribute to overall business strategy and decision-making.

EXPERIENCE & PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
· Proven experience as a Sales Director, VP of Sales, or similar leadership role in the consumer goods industry, preferably some of which is in the pet industry and international markets.
· Strong track record of driving sales growth, achieving revenue targets, and expanding market share.
· Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team to achieve exceptional results.
· Deep understanding of retail channel dynamics, including experience in managing relationships with retail partners and driving sales through various retail channels, including distribution and e-commerce/DTC.
· Solid knowledge of sales operations, data analytics, and CRM systems to drive sales performance and operational efficiency.
· Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to effectively interact with internal stakeholders, external partners, and senior management.
· Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.
