Facility: Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center
This position is a 32 hour a week (8am-5pm) Employee Health Nurse at Roosevelt Wellstar in Warm Springs, GA.
Job Summary:
The employee Health Nurse is responsible for overall accountability of and day to day operations of the Employee Health Department. This includes all employee Health duties and management of infection control issues in absence of infection control nurse.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Perform onboarding on all new employees, contract employees, students and interns initially upon hire, including follow up on PPD's or immunizations that are required according to current OSHA and DPH guidelines. Maintains required information on excel spreadsheet. Administers Hepatitis B vaccine series as needed. Refers out for other required or recommended vaccines as necessary.
Plans, organizes and carries out all vaccine clinics, such as annual flu clinic and other clinics as needed such as COVID . Acts as a resource for staff regarding vaccines. Monitors vaccine requirements and ensures all staff are up to date on all required vaccines.
Completes Workers Comp reports and forwards all claims to the medical only adjuster. Provides follow up on all cases and approves return to work duties.
Monitors all employee illnesses and call outs. Screens for transmissible illness's such as COVID or flu and recommends work restrictions according to CDC guidelines and current AU policies. These are documented on excel spreadsheet.
Maintain and update employee Health Polices according to CDC, OSHA and DPH guidelines. Responsible for all day to day infection control duties in absence of Infection Control Nurse, such as reviews all patient admissions and making precaution recommendations to staff in each hospital. Addresses any IC concerns and monitors daily patient lab results and making precautions recommendations according to CDC guidelines and providing IC orientation for new employees.

Required Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Required Minimum Experience:
2 year(s) or more of experience in of nursing experience Required
1 year(s) or more of experience in Employee or Public Health experience Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft office (Word, excel, PowerPoint)
Outstanding organizational skills (verbal and written)
Must have ability to develop strong rapport with staff, physicians and employees
Occupational health and/or public health experience Certification(s) Preferred
