CBS Medical Billing and Consulting provides full-service practice management, medical billing and compliance services for healthcare practices. What you will be doing: This position is responsible for leading and planning the billing operations of the Company and oversees daily operations of the billing department to identify and track trends, streamline billing processes, and provide support to billing team members. This role is an upper-level management role and holds the responsibilities of management of the billing department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversight of training, growth, and development for billing team members
Requirements: This is a full time, forty (40) hour week position. You must be able to sit or stand at a desk and work on a computer screen and phone for the majority of an eight (8) hour shift. You should have great communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as have proficiency in Office products including Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook, EMR systems and web browsers.
Essential Duties:
Management of Assigned Accounts:
1. Estimated client account work, 80%.
2. Daily review and delegation of tasks in each account
3. Communication with client and client’s staff to complete day to day tasks
4. Review and “spot-check” claims to evaluate if claims are being worked efficiently and effectively, documenting any trends that need improvement
5. Creation and maintenance of training documents
6. Performing Compliance Scrubs for claims in accordance with each client’s services contract and company procedures
7. Perform Level 3 Initial, Corrected and Secondary claim submissions through multiple billing software programs, clearinghouses, portals and paper
8. Review, compilation, and submission for Level 2 Additional Documentation Responses
9. Review and completion of the verification/authorization process in accordance with company procedures
Management of assigned Team:
1. Coordination of training for team members including goal setting, review and assessment and benchmark and goal tracking
2. Schedule, plan and run weekly billing team meetings to discuss accounts, goals, and improvements
3. Assist Client Success Manager in performance reviews for each team member regularly
4. Assist Client Success Manager with corrective action meetings including verbal or written warnings with assistance from Human Resources
5. Assist Client Success Manager with creation and carrying out of performance improvement plans for team members with assistance from Human Resources
6. Provide support to all team members as needed in all arising situations (i.e. industry questions, client relations, employee interactions, etc.)
7. Understand and comply with all policies and procedures in the Company Handbook
8. Answer routine incoming phone calls
Secondary Duties:
1. Coverage of Billing and Collections services for all assigned accounts as needed:
a. Level 1 and 2 claim submissions through multiple billing software platforms and clearinghouses
b. Level 1 and 2 AR follow-up procedures in accordance with each client’s services contract and company procedures
c. Level 1 and 2 denial management in accordance with each client’s services contract and company procedures
d. Perform insurance verifications and authorizations in accordance with each client’s services contract and company procedures
e. Retrieval of EOBs from clearinghouses and clients to post payments in all software applications used by each account
f. Documentation of all work performed in all software applications used by each account
g. Maintain and generate Posted Payment report to be submitted to the Accounts Receivable Department monthly when the client’s invoice cycle ends
2. Attend and represent the Company at national and local trade shows per Executive Leadership request
3. Attend Continuing Education trainings per Management’s request
