STL Engineers is need of some CERTIFIED Construction Materials Technicians, who are required to have TESTING CERTIFICATIONS from ACI, NICET or ICC and should have experience in the field, as well as in the laboratory, with a variety of Construction material testing techniques and tools.
Technicians are tasked with creating material sampling reports, using measurement tools, and collecting materials on construction sites for testing in the laboratory, such as soil for compaction or concrete for strength.
Typical work during regular business hours; however, it is not uncommon that long/unusual hours be required for certain construction projects. Safety gear such as hardhats and steel-toed boots are necessary on construction sites.
Prior experience or certifications in CMT is a plus but not required for entry level.
Certifications can come from a # of institutions such as the American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), National Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET), TxDOT, Construction Materials Certification and Education (CMEC), the Precast/Pre-stressed Concrete Institute (PCI), the American Society for Quality (ASQ), or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers’ Nondestructive Examination (ANDE).
