We are currently conducting a “confidential” client requested search within the Chicago Illinois market for an experienced and skilled Off-Premises Catering Sales Support Specialist / Catering Sales Representatives. The client is a very successful, financially strong, Off-Premises Catering Company with an established 43-year history currently in a position of growth.

This position reports directly to the Owner who is looking for key Inside / Outside Sales Representatives and Sales Support individuals experienced with Social, Corporate, Wedding, and Special Event Catering Sales operations. **Catering Sales Support Specialists**
Our Catering Sales Support Specialists provide an essential role in Sales Operations connecting our customers with the Food, Beverage, Staff, Equipment & Special Services they need. Grow your Inside Sales / Outside CRM experience within a strong and established Catering Company by focusing on order management and demand planning assistance to maximize revenue while ensuring integrity of all services our company offers and 100% client satisfaction. Our Sales Support Specialists work as a team to enhance customer success achieving the catering company goal of long term, repetitive, guest satisfaction.
Specific Duties
- Answer all business & sales calls and process each inquiry professionally & efficiently
- Coordinate with the culinary team and management to create customized menus based on client requirements
- Negotiate Menu & Services Agreements with clients, ensuring terms are favorable for both parties. Collaborate with clients to thoroughly understand their catering needs and preferences. Review with management for approval
- Processing Purchase Orders and Order Revisions, and backing up Order Entry
- Manage catering order demand schedules and forecasts within customer ordering systems
- Communicate detailed, precise and relevant client & catering information to management, and catering departments. Document in detail the setup, service, and breakdown of catering events to ensure seamless execution and appropriate fees are approved by the ownership & client
- Provide order status updates and support customer requests
- Support Catering Operations as requested
- Develop and implement strategies to drive catering sales and expand market reach. Generate and followup new sales leads.
- Conduct inside / outside sales activities to promote catering services and secure new business opportunities as directed
- Utilize personal efforts & technology to track leads, manage client accounts, and analyze sales data
- Perform followup client calls as directed in a timely manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service before, during, and after events to maintain client satisfaction and encourage repeat business
- Manage and update all social media and website accounts
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales, particularly in the catering or hospitality industry
- Data entry experience requiring a high degree of accuracy
- Prior experience with Caterease (preferred)
- Proficient in MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point)
- Experience with Constant Contact Marketing (preferred)
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Experience collaborating with buyers for forecast and discrepancy resolution
- Strong web-based application skills
- Strong Event Management knowledge
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work in a high-volume, fast-turnaround environment
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on building long-term client relationships
- Excellent time management and efficiency focus
- Energetic with a proactive mentality
Education and Qualifications:
- High school diploma (required)
- Degree from a 2 or 4-year accredited university (preferred)
