Job Summary:
The Test Engineer is responsible for defining, implementing, and supporting test processes for Production on a variety of products including Servers, switches and storage devices and configured complete racks. Develop test scripts and test plans for functional & system level coverage. This will entail managing several test projects simultaneously. Test Engineer will be expected to drive test process efficiency improvements reducing Time-to-Fail and overall test time while maintaining integrity of test and quality of product shipped. Support New Product Project Management team on the introduction of New Products into Nashville facility. Work closely with the corporate R&D, Test Development and Manufacturing teams to analyze test data, troubleshoot, and identify product defects, verify fixes and document test results. Review product specifications and documentation and develop comprehensive test strategy to provide necessary coverage. Communicate product readiness, level of quality, and results to project team. Engineering Failure Analysis on product issues identified in field. Development of Test software download process and maintenance of Test Servers and Network in conjunction with IT group.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist test engineers for test plan development and execution, results analysis, root cause identification, and reporting.
- Assist test engineers to develop automated Test processes to enhance and ensure the reliability and quality of new and existing products.
- Analyze failure reports and makes recommendations to improve product reliability and quality, and quality assurance processes, practices, and procedures.
- Work with test engineers and within engineering practices to maintain, modify, and enhance existing quality methods & processes.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to R&D, manufacturing, and vendors.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic Python programming skills.
- Familiar with Linux environment.
- Ability to build internal and external cross functional relationships.
- Project Management Skills.
- Proven knowledge and demonstrated application of engineering concepts and skills required.
- Proven understanding of software systems, application-based software development and the process required in producing product deliverables required.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in python programming.
- Experience in Linux environment.
- Knowledge of/Experience in/Proficiency in server/storage/PC hardware architecture
- A proven track record of high productivity in application, architecture, test programming, debugging.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for extended periods. Ability to walk and stand on cement floors for long periods.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
- Must have excellent hand - eye coordination.
- Must wear ear protection when working near testing area.
- Able to sit at desk and use/view computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to speak into and use a telephone for prolonged periods, up to 8 hours daily.
- Able to work in warehouse environment with no central heat or air.
- Able to bend and stoop for filing.
Salary Range
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
