Lancaster Design Build is a growing design and construction management firm. We are hiring an Architectural BIM Technician to work with our team of designers, architects and engineers to convert client dreams into technical drawings. If you are familiar with 3D design software and are experienced in creating architectural and structural construction documentation, we’d like to meet you.
Responsibilities
1. Drafting, Design and Rendering: Utilize drafting software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or similar BIM tools to produce detailed drawings, plans, and renderings that communicate design concepts, spatial layouts, and construction details effectively.
2. Preliminary code review: Conduct preliminary reviews of project designs to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards. Identify potential code issues and collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to address them early in the design process.
3. Create and Innovate: Generate and develop design concepts, sketches, and drawings that push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. Explore new materials, technologies, and design trends to create unique and compelling design solutions that exceed client expectations.
4. Space planning & interior design: Utilize space planning techniques and principles of interior design to optimize spatial layouts, circulation patterns, and functionality within commercial buildings. Select and specify interior finishes, materials, furnishings, and fixtures that enhance the overall design concept and meet client objectives.
5. 3D Modeling & Visualization: Create 3D models, renderings, and visualizations of design concepts using software such as Revit, SketchUp, or similar BIM tools. Present design ideas and proposals to clients, stakeholders, and project teams, effectively communicating design intent and vision.
6. Documentation & Drawing production: Prepare detailed construction drawings, plans, and specifications that accurately convey design intent, dimensions, materials, and finishes. Coordinate drawing production and revisions with project teams and consultants to maintain design integrity and consistency.
7. Client collaboration & communication: Engage in ongoing communication and collaboration with clients, responding to feedback, addressing concerns, and providing design solutions that align with client objectives and expectations. Maintain positive client relationships throughout the design process, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Proven experience (5 years) as a designer in the architecture or interior design industry, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects and design achievements.
2. Proficiency in design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape or similar tools.
3. Strong conceptual and design skills, with the ability to generate innovative ideas, solve complex design problems, and translate design concepts into compelling visual representations.
4. Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to commercial building design and construction.
5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design ideas, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and engage with clients and stakeholders.
6. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
