This role is a part-time or full-time position that is responsible for helping us feed our community through our farm and multiple product lines by serving our customers and helping to create a welcoming retail store experience. Understanding food, retail sales, and customer service are important. This position is located at our Carlisle, OH location.
About the Farm - The Farm in the City
The Farm On Central is an 8-acre startup urban farm located in Southwest Ohio. We produce vegetables, flowers, mushrooms, fruits, horticulture greenhouse products, and value-added products. We have a heavy emphasis on community with lots of farm activities and events including our annual sunflower field. The Farm on Central is also an educational center and trial farm with its sister company Growing Farmers being located onsite.
The farm grows for our year-round on-farm retail store located on a 12,000 car-a-day road, Farm Food Membership, home delivery service, and wholesale to Grocery stores.

Responsibilities
The Retail Associate is responsible for helping take our retail experience to the next level, stocking it with yummy foods, and cheerleading our customers in making better food choices. The responsibilities for this role would include but are not limited to:
- Greet customers when they enter the store
- Help customers pick out their products/produce
- Suggest complementary products to help complete their purchases
- Ring customers up at our POS check out
- Apply appropriate rewards
- Keep the store neat, clean and organized, and stocked with fresh product
- Must be able to work at least 20-30 hours per week, including rotating Saturdays.
- Additional areas of responsibility/ hours, including full time employment, are possibly available depending on background/experience.
- Assist with e-commerce orders and shipping.
Qualifications and Qualities
Qualifications necessary:
- 1-2 years of food or retail with a regenerative farm understanding a plus.
- Love to interact with people and talk good food
- Some experience with sales data reporting, and inventory
- Able to work within a dynamic, fluid, fast-paced environment
- Highly organized and creative
- Long-term commitment to the farm
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
- Available for work shifts between 9am and 7pm, and alternating Saturdays, NO Sundays.

- This seasonal position may include a reduction of hours in the winter months.

- Passion and interest in working/learning about small-scale, low-input, sustainable vegetable, flower, and herb production
- Self-starter, self-disciplined, goal orientated
- Comfortable working in a high-profile environment with regular filming being done for educational purposes
- Ability to set own appropriate schedule, work effectively with minimal supervision
- Comfortable with kids and a family working environment
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Have transportation and be punctual
- Energetic nature and willing to have fun
- Attention to detail, and record-keeping
- Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills; share and accept feedback in a team environment
- Providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers when needed.
Compensation
Compensation package:
- $15-18/hour based on experience for 20-40 hr/week average (seasonal variability)
