Miami Regional University has an opening for a professional staff member to systematically and ethically provide prospective students financial aid advice and counsel students on financial aid programs and scholarships available. Representative will work in accordance with the procedures, standards and compliance policies established at the institution and accrediting bodies. Staff will serve as a positive role model for students, faculty and guests in the areas of customer service, respect, communication, collaboration and excellence. Excellent communication skills a must. Flexible schedule, with evening shift, as needed. Ability to work in fast paced environment. Bilingual (English/ Spanish). CampusVue experience preferred required.
Required experience:
Previous Financial Aid Department Experience Required, min 1 year at post-secondary institution.
Essential Functions:
· Ensure duties and responsibilities align with MRU’s Mission and Vision
· Assist students in making applications for all forms of student financial assistance
· Conduct Entrance and Exit Counseling for student borrowers
· Ensure high level of customer service and professionalism is being provided throughout the student Financial Aid process
· Ensures all relevant paperwork is accurate and personally filled out by the student and or respective family member as it applies.
· Observes and applies all rules and regulations as it relates to Federal Financial Aid, State and Accreditation guidelines
· Performs data entry and file maintenance on CampusVue and related data management systems
· Maintains compliance with all Title IV funding requirements
· Maintains FA student files, assembles new student information and application packages and performs other clerical assignments
· Keeps updated on changes in the administration of Financial Aid programs by attending training workshops and reading Financial Aid publications and related materials.
· Regular and reliable attendance
· Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
· 1-2 years’ experience as a financial aid officer
· Knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations with specific knowledge of Title IV.
· Ability to interact with all levels of individuals
· Detail oriented problem solver, and the ability to multi-task
· Competency in the use of a personal computer and other office equipment
· Ability to work in an environment that can be fast-paced and stressful at times
Position Schedule:
Forty hours per week but may vary daily and weekend hours may be required.
