About the Position
Operations and Maintenance is a customer-driven support division that provides day-to-day maintenance and successful operation of all County facilities. The Contract Compliance Inspector oversees and manages contracts and contractors to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

As the landlord for all facilities owned by Maricopa County, the Facilities Management Department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of more than 200 facilities comprised of over 10 million square feet. Facilities Management is made up of a collaborative team that provides and performs various functions to meet the facility-related needs of all Maricopa County Departments. Our broad range of services includes various aspects of the ongoing operations and maintenance of all County-owned facilities, management of all facility projects, and in-house design services.

We Require
Three years of experience in vendor compliance, coordination, and monitoring of contracted services in various commercial and/or government/institutional environments or similar roles within the facilities management industry and one year of administrative experience
High school diploma or GED
Post-secondary education may substitute for one year of the experience requirement
Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) and MCSO background investigation and TOC certification to access County detention facilities
Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire

Job Contributions
Coordination and monitoring contracted services for one of the following services: janitorial, landscaping, pest control, or building maintenance
The main obligation will be to ensure agreements between outside vendors and the Maricopa County Facilities Management Department are being conducted and carried out according to the contracts. This will be achieved by reviewing, interpreting, monitoring, and implementing County and department policy and contractual obligations and staying up to date with changes to both
Inspections and appraisal to ensure effective and timely contract compliance processes, identify potential gaps in compliance, contractual obligations, and in-field functions, processes, and/or schedules, and apply appropriate measures to correct instances of non-compliance
Prepare and coordinate compliance programs, reports, and inspections to ensure internal and external compliance across various Maricopa County departments and contracted vendors
Analyze established contractual agreements to understand the terms, conditions, special provisions, and exclusions of each contract
Conduct briefing sessions with management teams, employees, and contracted vendors to answer questions and explain various compliance proficiencies and deficiencies regarding relevant contracts or policies

Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations. Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
