The Publishing Operations Analyst is a support role within the Publishing Strategic Planning group. Alongside the Manager, Publishing Finance and Operations, this position will help maintain key budgeting processes for Marvel’s print publishing business. This role will also be responsible for coordinating the weekly print run process, working across Sales, Distribution, Ops, and Manufacturing to relay final print quantities and obtain necessary approvals.
Moreover, the role will be the “go-to” source for all ad hoc print modeling and analysis.
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain annual publishing forecast and title rollup
Initiate New Project Memo (NPM) process, creating P&Ls and routing for approvals
Manage the weekly print run process, summarizing orders and overprints and building title P&Ls
Regularly review and update cost information, including manufacturing and creative, to keep P&Ls current and accurate
Assemble and distribute monthly reporting package, inclusive of top-selling titles, margin analyses, and latest trends in the business
Prepare analysis and rollups for all corporate finance budget (AOP) submissions and regular re-forecasts
Support ad hoc P&L and reporting needs across the print publishing business
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, macros, VBA) and PowerPoint
3+ years of experience or related experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail
Collaborative teammate who can effectively partner with individuals across the organization
Ability to independently manage multiple tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines
Ability to prepare and present information to support decision-making
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience manipulating large data sets and interpreting data trends
Ideally, some experience working with PowerBI & PowerPoint
Interest in and knowledge of the world of Marvel Comics/Intellectual Property

The hiring range for this position in New York is $75,905.00-$98,230.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
