Under direction of the Plant Manager, supervise shipping and receiving operators to ship, receive, stage and store medical products in a timely manner and with a high regard for safety and quality, while following GMP guidelines. Activities can include; hiring and training new staff, motivation and development of employees through coaching/ corrective actions up to and including termination, payroll management, employee scheduling, performance reviews, operating within departmental budget, inventory analysis/control, participating in quality audits, improving efficiencies of department related tasks, performing minor machine maintenance, implementing company policies and procedures. Support Corporate Trucking Operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Possess High School Diploma or GED
- Possess basic reading and math skills
- Minimum three to five years as a shipping & receiving/warehouse supervisor
- Willing to work shifts, including weekends/overtime as required
- Oversee the safe work practices of all personnel in warehouse area
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Perform periodic inspections to ensure the quality of all receipts and shipments.
- Direct the activities of operators, clerical staff, quality auditors and mechanics throughout the shift.
- Train employees on SOP’s pertinent to their work area
- Insure accuracy, timeliness and completeness of shipping & receiving documents.
Education and Experience:
- Good work history, positive attitude, good attendance record and proven work ethic
- Strictly comply with Standard Operating Procedures and GMP practices and guidelines
- Understanding of Logistics (Possible International Shipments)
- Communicate with Plant Manager and other employees about potential problems or process improvements
- Work well in a team environment, coach/motivate other employees
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Support company culture of quality, accountability, efficiency and teamwork
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications and MRP systems
Preferred, but not necessary:
- Knowledge of FDA regulations for medical device/pharmaceutical
- Associates Degree
