Job Description
Smith Machine Worx is looking to hire a new, full-time Industrial Electrical Technician to join our growing team. The Electrical Technician will work alongside the Controls and Mechanical Engineering teams to design and build custom automation solutions for our customers in a broad range of industries. From the initial stages of brainstorming and conceptualizing solutions, through all design stages, fabrication, assembly, and installation, the Industrial Electrical Technician will be involved on projects from start to finish.
Responsibilities
● Field wiring of machines and electrical components
● Build and wiring of control panels
● Support manufacturing by resolving issues that may arise during assembly and testing
Minimum Qualifications
● Thorough understanding and knowledge of electrical componentry
● Experience in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical machinery
● Experience reading electrical prints
● Ability to read electrical drawings
● Basic electrical knowledge and safety
● Experience with motors and drives
● Self-motivated, capable of effectively working on multiple projects at a time.
● Well-rounded and personable individual.
Additional Qualifications - the following qualifications are not required for consideration, but would be
advantageous
● VFD Programing is a plus
● PLC Programming is a plus
● HMI Applications is a plus
