Job Description
Established and growing Cardiology practice looking for a reliable Medical Assistant with experience. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday from 8-5 (hours may vary) This is primarily a Clinical role but must be willing to assist with scheduling and patient follow up as well. Cardiology experience preferred. Must be able to travel to Johns Creek.
Must be able to perform the following duties:
· Great personality and superior customer service skills required
· Travel to Johns Creek and Cumming Offices
· Taking Patient Vital Signs
· Taking Medical Histories
. Performing EKGs
· Preparing Patients for Medical Tests and Examinations
· Calling Prescriptions in to Pharmacies
· Working knowledge of medical terminology
· Great communicator able to deal tactfully and professionally with patients, families, staff, and physicians
· Must have reliable transportation
· The medical assistant will provide caring and compassionate direct care in a clinic setting under the direction of a physician or physician assistant
· Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
. Schedule hospital procedures and call in precerts
. Handle prescription denials
· Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient's chart
· Ability to handle basic administrative duties
· Draw labs as ordered
· Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
· Ability to handle multiple phone calls
· Report to clinical coordinator or practice administrator
· Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
· Complete necessary documentation using EClinical EMR.
· Arrange referrals
. perform cardiac stress tests
· Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment
· Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
· Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls/procedure, appointment scheduling
· Experience & knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding is preferred
. Perform EKGs
· Excellent planning, organizational, and oral/written communication skills are essential
. Schedule Patient follow-up and testing appointments.
· All other duties as assigned by Physician, Physician Assistant, clinical coordinator or practice administrator
