Summary: Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel look, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment or materials by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch and transports load to designated area. Unloads and stacks material by raising and lower lifting device. Inventories materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed. Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels or production schedules. Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
Education/Skills: High school diploma or GED
Six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must obtain and maintain Forklift Certification.
