About JA Solar:
In January 2023, JA Solar, a global solar cell, and module manufacturing leader, announced its first manufacturing facility in the U.S. (United States). in Phoenix, Arizona. The new facility will produce high-performance photovoltaic (PV) products and is expected to be operational by Q2 2024, creating over 700 new jobs. The facility represents a $60 million investment and will utilize highly automated assembly lines to produce high-efficiency solar panels for commercial and residential applications, as well as utility-scale solar power plants.
Job Summary:
As a Project Engineer at JA Solar's Phoenix facility, you will be an integral part of the solar panel manufacturing process. Your primary responsibilities include assisting the specialized supervisor in conducting on-site technical improvement assessments, new production line layout, and new equipment introduction and development. This role requires attention to detail and commitment to safety and environmental standards.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Undertake project tasks assigned by superiors and promptly submit project proposals and plans.
- Assist the specialized supervisor in analyzing equipment problems and providing improvement solutions.
- Lead company-level technical projects and organize related departments for unified progress.
- Responsible for evaluating and implementing new technical projects and organize related departments for unified progress.

- Communicate with equipment manufacturers regarding equipment programming, software optimization, equipment modification plans, new workshop layout plans, after-sales service, return of spare parts and major issues and improvement directions.
- Communication with the Production, Process and Quality Departments collecting requirements for technical upgrades and modifications. Providing relevant equipment technology and information for the respective areas.
- Provide technical support for on-site modifications.
- Ensure completion of departmental and company-level improvement and innovation targets, and foster improvement awareness and thinking among on-site engineers.
- Adhere to all JA Solar and OSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
- Meet or exceed company safety standards.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, automation, or related fields.
- Low-voltage electrician certification.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in the photovoltaic or semiconductor industry.
- Proficiency in electrical or mechanical skills, mechanical design, circuit design, or programming.
- Strong interpersonal communication, organizational coordination, teamwork, understanding and innovation skills.
- Previous experience in manufacturing
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations

Working conditions:
- Able to work extended hours as needed
- Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, and extreme noise

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
