EVENT SALES/OPERATIONS & HOSPITALITY MANAGER
Position: Urban Growler Brewing Company is looking for an experienced Event Sales/Operations and Hospitality Manager to join our team.
Location: St. Paul, MN.
Who We Are: Urban Growler is the first woman owned microbrewery in Minnesota. We are an urban oasis located in St. Paul, MN. We have a warm and inviting taproom, beer garden and event spaces serving our own elevated pub food and beverages. We self-distribute our beverages in kegs and cans. We’re LGBTQ owned and we’re on a path to be one of the top breweries in MN.

The Events Sales Manager is a team player dedicated to selling the event spaces, managing and holding accountable the Events team and helping to fulfill our mission: To bring People together through Beer. This person has outstanding service skills and knows how to train these skills to people in their department. This role has direct accountability for all things Events.

What Will You Do:
- Sell event space
- Plan, coordinate, staff and supervise all events in UGBC private event spaces and brewery and outside events.
- Arrange room setup per customer request
- Meet with client and exceed expectations
- Come up with new ideas for brewery events
-Manage entertainment bookings in beer gardens and event spaces
- Develop packages
- Keep records of past, current and prospective contacts
- Setup and coordinate philanthrobrew events
- Attend venues and events to market and sell the private event spaces
- Setup partnerships with ancillary businesses, such as AV and rental companies to expand options available to our customers
- Setup and coordinate tours and tasting events
- Provide leadership, direction and training to events team members demonstrating Urban Growler’s values and expectations.
- Take action and lead on matters of hiring, promotion, discipline, performance improvement or termination of employees under the span of control.
- Conduct ongoing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and timely formal reviews of performance.
- Ensure event spaces are clean and well maintained
- Formulate policies and procedures designed to ensure strong and efficient workflow, minimize overhead and labor hours and advance the business.
- Provide decisive and positive relations to ensure a high level of collaboration and cohesion across all UGBC teams.
- Maintain on-going communication to ensure team is well informed in regards to events.
- Develop strategies to provide optimum experience for guests.
- Investigate the cause of customer or supplier complaints and work with managers to develop remedies for future avoidance.
What you should have:
- Minimum of 2 years of events management
- Must be detail oriented and have outstanding organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate exceptionally by listening, speaking and writing.
- Engaging personality with great communication, management and teamwork skills
-Excellent computer skills
- Experience managing employee dynamics and conflicts.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions
- Capable of standing for long periods of time
- Able to lift up and move up to 25lbs.
- Capable of safe and competent work in and around machinery in an active brewery
- Able to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
Compensation & Benefits: Salary $48,000 plus commission. Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays and last but not least – free food and beer.
