Hardin Advanced Dentistry is the preeminent cosmetic dentistry practice in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. We are looking for a qualified, enthusiastic and motivated Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our Team!
Duties:
- Consistently greet patients with a warm welcome and be attentive to their needs and comfort
- Represent the practice in a professional, pleasant and cooperative manner
- Assist the doctor(s) during dental procedures
- Perform dental procedures under doctor direction and supervision
- Perform efficient and accurate procedures to maintain patient flow and doctor schedules
- Show foresight and anticipate issues so that doctors' day runs as smoothly as possible
- Review patient chart prior to patient arrival
- Upon arrival, obtain or review, update and verify patient health information, including but not limited to medications
- Brief doctor(s) on planned patient treatment and any other relevant information, especially alerting doctor to any concerns or issues
- Transcribe doctor notes and necessary patient data into patient electronic health record
- Provide patients with instructions regarding post-operative and post-treatment care
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene
- Observe and comply with company policies regarding patient confidentiality (HIPAA), safety (OSHA), timeliness, attendance and others as specified in employee handbook
- Promote the practice and doctors; encourage patients to provide practice reviews through social media; make patients aware of other services and/or products from which they may benefit
- Other duties as reasonably required
Skills, Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current Radiography certification and Dental Assistant certification
- Two (2) years experience as a practicing EFDA in a professional environment with direct patient contact
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to complete composite fillings
- Ability to make temporary crowns
- Ability to temporarily reline immediate dentures
- Ability to take precise x-rays and properly save to a patient's medical record
- Demonstrated proficiency in dental assisting procedures and treatments
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Proficient in dental coding and documentation
- Familiarity with dental records management systems
- Ability to work with patients of all ages
- Ability to utilize loops for proper visual acuity when working within the oral cavity
- Ability to learn and utilize new office technologies as they are developed and implemented

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
