Dessert Holdings is looking for a
Buyer Planner based in the
Aurora, CO office. The Buyer Planner works independently and cross functionally within the supply chain, operations, quality, and marketing teams. This role is accountable for the procurement, material management, communication and analysis work required to obtain the best cost, quality, and service from suppliers for assigned categories (raw materials and packaging)
The hired candidate can expect to make between $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the material requirements planning process, forecast short- and long-term demand for existing raw material and packaging products; collaborating with supply planning, operations, marketing, product management and the suppliers to ensure effective inventory control.
- Communicate Replenishment Planning results with the organization daily.
- Create purchase orders consistent with inventory management and distribution planning best practices which maintain the most effective inventory turns for the business, minimizing obsolescence.
- Assure perfect 3-way match between PO, Receipt, and Invoice, facilitating and discrepancy resolution.
- Manage the day-to-day supplier relationships within the confines of defined contracts
- Manage the corrective action process for assigned categories, conducting analysis and investigations regarding operational issues related to assigned categories.
- Support commercialization of new materials; ERP set up, supplier onboarding and timing of new materials.
- Lead the expiration process, communicating short-dated products and influence the usage to prevent obsolescence.
- Obtain services and materials from suppliers at the lowest total cost consistent with considerations of quality, reliability of source, risk to the business and urgency of need.
- Participate and supports projects associated with the supply chain to improve productivity.
- Manage ERP systems maintenance (Process Pro), including supplier master data, SKU master and purchase order data.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum – Bachelor’s degree
- Preferred – CPM/APICS certification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in buying with preferred emphasis in the food industry
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel; Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, formulas
- Experience with planning systems and processes (MRP)
- Experience with buying products for manufacturing, including raw materials and/or packaging products.
- Results driven with a sense of urgency to business needs.
- Able to independently manage and follow through multi-step project steps/procedures consistently
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Proven ability to think critically and make timely decisions
