The Truck Driver and Warehouse Support person is involved in gathering materials and tools from the warehouse, packaging those items suitably for transport, loading them on to a straight truck and delivering them to a job site in New England.
Note: THIS IS FULL TIME TEMPORARY UNTIL SOMETIME IN MAY 2024 BUT COULD BECOME PERMANENT.
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- From material lists provided by the Warehouse Manager, gather the correct items in the right quantity and package them for transport to job sites.
- Load materials onto a 24-foot straight delivery truck by hand and/or using a forklift and transport them to job sites in New England. Overnight travel is not required.
- Unload incoming deliveries into the warehouse using a forklift and put into stock.
- As instructed by the Warehouse Manager, travel to jobsites upon completion of the project to load and return tools and unused materials. Return those items to the correct location in the warehouse.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route, designations, parking and break periods).
- Report defects, accidents, violations.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required by the job site or per the assigned task.
Required / Desirable Skills:
- At least 3 years of Truck Driving experience.
- Previous experience with a Straight Truck(24ft).
- No accidents in the last 3 years (including personal accidents).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a Valid DOT Card and CDL Class B Drivers License.
- Must have a smart phone with GPS.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Ability to adapt to weather conditions and still remain safe and compliant to road safety.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable Truck driving safety and DOT compliance.
- Ability to read material lists and identify the correct parts using part numbers.
- Lifting objects of more than 50 pounds may be required.
- Basic language skills. Able to read and comprehend basic instructions and write basic correspondence. Able to effectively present information to customers and company staff. Must be fluent in English.
- Basic mathematical skills. Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Basic reasoning ability. Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop alternative solutions

- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
