Position Summary:
Join our team in Irvine, CA as a Mechanical Assembler, where you'll play a crucial role in accurately and efficiently assembling and testing a variety of moderately complex products. From single hydraulic systems to multiple part numbers, you'll work with mechanical components to ensure customer quality and on-time delivery schedules are met. Your contributions to lean initiatives will help increase productivity and reduce costs, making you an essential part of our team.
Essential Functions:
- Perform assembly and test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and assembly fixtures in a manufacturing environment.
- Record test results accurately and interpret test data to identify and address malfunctions.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, and assembly routes to produce assemblies that meet product specifications.
- Conduct touch-up or full surface painting of parts using finishing materials.
- Actively participate in lean initiatives by identifying areas for improvement.
- Assist in training less experienced team members.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure equipment is calibrated according to schedule.
- Perform other related responsibilities as needed.
Job Requirements:
- Two or more years of industry-related experience in assembly/test in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated product and process knowledge with the ability to apply it to new techniques.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications.
- Strong mechanical reasoning skills.
- Ability to implement and apply lean initiatives effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in standard business software applications.
- Soldering certification may be required per customer requirements.
