We are an exciting new restaurant set to open in downtown Salem this August! Au Gratin is a scratch kitchen featuring the best paninis and mac & cheese you’ve ever had! Owner/Chef Mike Denk will bring his fine dining experience to Au Gratin’s cozy and casual setting. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Manager to join our team and help lead us to success from day one.
Job Description:
As the Front of House Manager, you will be the driving force behind our customer service and overall guest experience at an intimate 20 seat luncheonette including take out and catering . You will oversee all front-of-house operations, ensuring that our guests receive top-notch service and that our team operates smoothly and efficiently. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the launch of a new restaurant and to grow with us.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, train, and manage front-of-house staff to provide exceptional customer service. Full knowledge of menu is a necessity
- Oversee daily front-of-house operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Ensure a clean, organized, and inviting atmosphere for guests
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and care
- Manage staff schedules, payroll, and performance evaluations
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service and quality
- Maintain inventory and supplies for front-of-house operations
- Implement and uphold health and safety standards
- Assist with marketing and promotional activities to drive business
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Front of House Manager or similar role in a restaurant setting
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in restaurant management software is a plus

This position is set to start in mid-July or early August to prepare for our August maybe September opening. We look forward to building a talented and enthusiastic team to launch our new restaurant successfully.
