Performs and directs overall store management. Controls inventory and money control systems. Directs staff to ensure that customer service, product rotation, stocking, cleanliness, inventory and anything directed by management is maintained. Maintains standards of safety and security. Delegates and assists in training new team members. Maintains cash controls and bank deposits. Exceptional customer service is a major component of this position.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Is on call to work shifts when employees do not show up for work or cannot be there.
2. Maintenance of business records and inputs all sales data into the computer system provided.
3. Executes changes in promotions, retail pricing, gasoline controls to her managers
4. Supports monthly promotional incentives and manages staff to execute promotions.
5. Responds to customer complaints if one arises.
6. Manages the operations of the store including but not limited to: cleanliness, customer service, inventory rotation, adequate stocking, ordering, and any other direct request from management.
7. Ensures that exception reports on video are being reviewed daily.
8. Is responsible for coaching and discipline of staff.
9. Assists cashiers in sales transactions and operates a shift to include stocking, cash register, cleaning and any other duties prescribed to the cashiers.
10. Supervise the maintenance of the parking lot, gasoline pumps, trashcans, lighting and general machinery necessary to operate a convenience store.
11. Helps to preform night rides, cash audits and any necessary off duty surprise visit as directed by upper management.
12. Notifies District Manager of any cash shortages greater than $15.00, cigarette shortages greater than 20 packs and lottery shortages greater than $5.00
13. Reports to the store in an emergency situation: break in, robbery, alarm setting, failure of staff to lock up and set alarm,
14. Remain drug free and submit to random drug screens.
15. Strives to maintain a 1% or less inventory shortage to be determined by a monthly audit service. If the inventory shortage exceeds this amount, executes and enforces procedures to find any mistakes or possible theft. Conducts all inventory research and reporting.
16. Conduct or delegate cigarette inventory counts, trend sheets, and any other reports prescribed by upper management.
17. Follow and adhere to all policies regarding vendor check in procedures, inventory reporting procedures, employee discipline procedures and employee handbook procedures.
18. Leads staff in a style that will foster the mission of the company and promote positive moral.
19. Required to work a minimum of a 45 work week. Managers must clock in and clock out from the location they manage. No changes can be made to the posted schedule without authorization from the DM
20. Adherence to the mileage policy is a condition of this job.
