Compensation
Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Position Summary
Summary:
The Nurse Manager provides and integrates clinical leadership and management of a designated unit of patient care on a twenty four hour basis, consistent with the philosophy and goals of the institution, patient care service department, and clinical service, develops and sustains an environment of excellence in patient / family service, growth and development of staff, and application of evidence-based practice.
Qualifications
Education Required
- Must complete in-house orientation program
- Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Professional Nursing (A degree in nursing is required – Baccalaureate and/or Graduate degree; A Master’s Degree is preferred)
- Must complete annual mandatory in-service education (Hospital/Nursing)
Experience And Skills
- Speaks, reads and writes English
- Clinical experience/skills relevant to the assigned area of practice
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency, i.e. excel , word
- Highly developed skills in leadership, public relations, teambuilding, problem solving, decision-making, conflict management, analytical skills and critical thinking abilities
License/Certifications
- Current and valid New York State registration authorizing practice as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)
- Certifications for assigned area of practice: BLS and/or ACLS, PALS and CPI if required for assigned area of practice.
- PALS
- Nurse Executive (ANCC) or Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (AONE) or appropriate clinical/specialty certification preferred.
