Registrar
Join our dynamic team as the Registrar, where you will play a crucial role in developing and expanding STEM programs. This position is based in our education department and reports directly to the Education Programs Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you can make a significant impact by working with on-site and local community partners. Your responsibilities will include scheduling and facilitating school field trips and coordinating with schools to organize educational outreach programs and events. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for direct sales for Field trips, Summer Group visits, Birthday parties, and upselling Learning Labs to meet budgeted targets
- Keep an accurate calendar of all group bookings, keeping the education and operations teams updated as bookings come in.
- Assists with the relaunch of our Labs on the Go program, where the Science Mill brings their unique blend of educational programs into schools across central Texas.
Qualifications:
- Must be a great communicator both on the phone and in writing
- Must be able to prioritize tasks to address the most urgent items while still focusing on future bookings
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and deliver a top-quality product every time
- Detailed orientated
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of program logistical support and can travel as needed.
The ideal candidate will have prior K-12 experience, informal education otherwise, and a proven track record of coordinating with a team of 3-6 people. An entrepreneurial mindset is a significant plus, as is bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish. Additionally, a background in the non-profit sector, especially in museums, is highly desirable.

About The Science Mill Science Mill Located in Johnson City, Texas, in the repurposed, historic 1880-era Grist Mill, the Science Mill is a fully experiential museum, where kids learn by doing, experimenting, discovering and most importantly, by being curious. The Science Mill’s mission is to give all kids the confidence, tools, and support to reach their full potential as a skilled member in a future 21st century STEM workforce. By reaching elementary and middle school students in rural and urban underserved communities that have limited access to STEM programs, we ignite a new level of interest and the spark that excites and engages students in STEM learning. Pay: $18.97 - $22.85 per hour
