Qualifications
Education and Professional Experience:
- Candidate must have 3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- Bachelor’s or Associate's degree required
- Candidates with an ABA-approved paralegal certificate, or an associate degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, will receive preference
- Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience using Westlaw Form Builder and paperless case management and billing platforms preferred
- Excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities:
- Manage firm calendar for hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, deadlines, meetings, phone conferences and other appointments
- Ensure deadlines are not missed
- Maintain complete and accurate time in firm time-keeping software
- Maintain professional contact and communication with clients, both verbal and written
- Prepare legal documents and correspondence under the supervision of a lawyer, to include pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
- Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents
- Prepare spreadsheets, inventories and appraisements, financial information sheets, and other documents for review, approval, and use by attorneys, clients and court
- Draft discovery requests and prepare correspondence to opposing counsel and/or opposing parties
- Draft and coordinate delivery of service of citations, notices and subpoenas
- Coordinate exchange of discovery and exhibits
- Review and organize documents, exhibits, evidence and case pleadings
- E-file pleadings and other documents with court clerks throughout DFW metroplex
- Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences
- Bates Label and edit using Adobe Acrobat
- Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving a variety of problems that arise in family law cases
- Assist attorneys with a variety of administrative matters such as coordinating and orchestrating firm CLE trainings and quarterly volunteer events
