A day in the life:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing and recording of time and pay for multi-state payroll which includes 250+ (and growing) employees in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines
- Compile, balance, and ensure compliance requirements are met for additional earning submissions, time corrections, and rate overrides submitted from multiple locations and validate results in the payroll system.
- Review payroll reports to confirm data is balanced with timekeeping and department/base submission reports to ensure accuracy and identify any out-of-balance conditions needing correction.
- Understand and apply company policy and state/government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
- Work closely with Finance department as it relates to payroll, balancing, reports, audits, etc
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws
- Support all regulatory filing such as ACA reporting requirements, EEO reporting, 401(k) annual Non-Discrimination Testing, general state or federal audits, etc.
- Administer various types of leaves, including FMLA, ADA, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Military Leave, Bereavement Leave and Jury Duty Leave and any other company leave policies
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
- A high sense of urgency and a can-do attitude
The background profile we are looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or human resources preferred and 3-5 years of multistate payroll required
- Experience in HRIS systems and payroll systems, UKG Ready knowledge is highly preferred
- Deep understanding of state and federal payroll and tax laws
- Knowledge of benefit programs including FMLA, ADA, health insurance, long-term disability, workers compensation insurance, unemployment regulations, COBRA, etc.
- Strong time management skills needed in order to organize and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Willing to learn and find solutions to complex issues
