Nuclear Operations Direct License Candidate
Job Summary
This position is for individuals entering a direct license program to gain an NRC license at a Duke Energy facility. Individuals will be expected to successfully pass all license training program requirements to obtain an NRC license as a Reactor Operator or Senior Reactor Operator.

Basic / Required Qualifications

High school diploma or the equivalent
-
Shall have one or more of the following:
-
4 year Engineering degree in technology, physical sciences AND greater than 12 months experience at a comparable design commercial nuclear facility or greater than 21 months at a noncomparable design commercial nuclear facility

Professional Engineer (PE) AND greater than 12 months experience at a comparable design commercial nuclear facility or greater than 21 months at a noncomparable design commercial nuclear facility
-
Nuclear Navy Experience – Reactor operator, Propulsion Watch Officer, Engineering Watch Supervisor or Engineering officer of the Watch
-
Current or Previous RO/SRO license with greater than 1 year experience at a comparable (BWR/PWR) facility similar design or Greater than 18 months non-similar design at a commercial nuclear facility

Nuclear Operations Instructor – SRO Certification AND greater than 4 years of SRO-certified instructor experience

This role requires the use of weight rated equipment, with max ratings ranging from 275lbs to 325lbs, in order to meet the essential functions of the job.
