The Merchandiser's role is to provide a quality service to customers who buy in stores and improving the consumer buying experience by creating merchandising solutions in their assigned stores. The activities include relationships with in-store, sales, executing merchandising, building displays, and managing the merchandising of impulse items displayed in specific areas of supermarkets. They are also responsible for the proper new item placement, stock rotation, and building displays. The ideal candidate is a self-confident, quick learner, has strong social skills, and works well in independent situations. They must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to build relationships with business partners.
Responsibilities
· Communicate actively with those in charge of the point of sale.
· Negotiate with point-of-sale managers.
· Organize and clean the gondola where the products are located.
· Place the products according to assigned spaces.
· Price the products.
· Carry out sales promotions.
· Properly display the brand's products.
· Publicize the benefits, characteristics and prices of the products.
· Prepare food at the point of sale for sampling or tasting.
· Taste the food to customers at the point of sale.
· Maintain biosafety protocols against COVID-19.
· Wash hands and apply alcohol gel at each sample preparation event.
· Use disinfectant towels in the place of preparation and tasting.
· Close and cover the products in preparation and tasting.
· Avoid contact with many people when tasting the product.
· Use all hygiene measures in the preparation and tasting process.
· Promote the products and brand of the company.
· Serve customers with empathy and kindness.
· Make an inventory of the products in stock.
· Request products from the immediate manager when they are not in stock at the point of sale.
· Supply the place of exhibition of the products.
· Rotate expiration dates of products.
· Prepare and present sales reports to immediate boss.
· Actively participate in sales team meetings.
Qualifications
· High School degree.
· Minimum of 1 year as sales merchandiser or similar.
· Preferably experience in food products selling.
· Strong oral communication skills.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Bilingual (Spanish and intermediate English).
