Job Summary: The Diagnostic Data Entry Specialist (DDES) will provide diagnostic data entry support to all pathologists as needed while adhering to and supporting our culture of compliance and safety by following all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism at all times.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Diagnostic Data Entry Specialist / Transcriptionist:
- Receive diagnostic codes (alpha or alpha numeric codes) and / or additional test orders from the pathologist.
- The codes and orders will be shared by the pathologist either verbally or handwritten on pathology requisitions.
- Enter the orders into the LIS for other team members to access and process.
- Enter the diagnostic code into the LIS to produce a macro, a paragraph of diagnostic information.
- Close the case which will add the case to the queue for the pathologist to review and when appropriate, sign-out.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED minimum required; Associate Degree preferred
- Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with six months experience in a similar role.
- While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position also requires long duration of sitting and working on a computer. May require lifting up to 25 pounds.
