Job Description:
Midwest Drywall is seeking skilled and experienced Commercial Foreman Carpenters to join our team. As a Commercial Foreman Carpenter, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating construction, installation, and repair of structures in commercial buildings. This role involves supervising a team of carpenters. Your ability to work and manage a team efficiently will be critical to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to understand project requirements, blueprints, and timelines. Develop a plan for the carpentry work.
Supervision: Lead and manage carpenters, assigning tasks, ensuring on time completion of tasks and quality of work. Provide guidance throughout the project.
Carpentry Work: Perform carpentry tasks as needed, including cutting and installing building materials such as metal studs, drywall, and other materials.
Materials and Equipment: Coordinate materials and equipment required for the project. Keep track of inventory and ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available on-site.
Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with the construction team to provide progress updates and address any issues or concerns.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to create a safe working environment for the carpentry team. Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure that all personnel follow safety procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, material usage, and any changes made to the original plan.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a foreman carpenter in commercial construction projects. With previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans. Strong organizational and communication skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Physical strength and stamina to handle the demands of carpentry work.
