Position Summary:
The Paraplanner works closely with the Advisor and other team members to ensure a superior client experience during the financial planning process. The Paraplanner is responsible for the data gathering, analysis, preparation, and delivery of a financial plan. The Paraplanner collaborates with the advisor to prepare for client meetings to present the Financial Plan. The Paraplanner will assist the Advisor in making recommendations to the client. The Paraplanner and Advisor function as a team to provide high levels of client satisfaction to exceed agreed-to service standards and ensure client loyalty.
The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge of related fields to paraplanning and wealth management (accounting, economics, finance etc.) with a desire to progress in a career within the industry. We welcome candidates recently completing degree programs or career-changers. This role is designed to utilize preexisting knowledge, passion, and experience in a wealth management-related field while providing the opportunities to rapidly learn the fundamentals of the business in a fast-paced, challenging, and collaborative environment. This includes growth opportunities, whether as a CFP candidate, financial advisor, or progressing in their career in financial services.
Major Responsibilities:
Ensure the delivery of high-quality financial plans to our clients
- Work on a client’s financial plan from its inception, including the consultancy; planning; research; presentation; and execution in collaboration with the Advisor
- Obtain, organize, and analyze personal and financial client data
- Aggregate client data into eMoney financial planning software
- Obtain insurance quotes as needed
- Schedule, organize, prepare materials for, and participate in financial presentation meeting with clients and Advisor
- Communicate directly with clients to ensure all action items have been completed in a timely manner and answer additional questions
- Update existing financial plans as needed
Perform analysis and/or conduct research to prepare client specific solutions
- Assist with research and gain understanding to present insurance needs analysis
- Assist with research on various financial planning topics
Ensure proper recordkeeping and adherence to policies, processes, and procedures
- Ensure clients electronic folders are properly organized and maintained
- Ensure desk and online documentation are kept in good order including scanning of client documentation
- Identify needed improvements and/or updates to policies, processes, and procedures. Work with all team members to ensure clear communication, understanding, and adherence
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field (accounting, economics, finance, etc.) an added plus
- Additional degree programs welcomed, insomuch as the candidate has interest in entering the wealth management industry and has the necessary skillset
- Experience, education, interest, or background in the financial services industry OR in a similar position (accounting, economics, etc.)
- Experience in working with LPL Financial an added plus
Licenses and Certifications
- CFP candidate or CFP certification an added plus
- Registered Paraplanner (RP) designation an added plus
- Life Insurance license an added plus
- Series 7 (GSRE) an added plus
Skills and Knowledge:

- Must be able to work collaboratively with both the Advisor and the with other team members
- Must be able to adapt to different Advisors working styles and preferences
- Must be comfortable with changing schedules and priorities: have the ability to handle urgent client requests and quickly resume planned activities for the day
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications as appropriate.
