Church Media Director
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Media Director to lead our media department and oversee the in-person and online broadcast and manage all aspects of the organization's (church) production system—development, operation, and maintenance. All applicants must be professing Christians committed to daily prayer and Bible reading.
Primary Responsibilities:
Media
- Produce pre-, live, and post-productions for Sunday services, midweek services, special events, and AV productions.
Video Production
- Direct and produce weekly videos for services and online content. This includes GCFI stories, video announcements, service and event highlights, ministry spotlights, outreach, etc.
- Advise on keeping video production equipment and processes up to date and maintaining production quality.
- Edit footage in postproduction, including adding slides, verses, lyrics, audio, and video buffers.
- Rendering footage to upload online to archives and live stream providers.
- Archive footage to designated Drive.
Manage Media Department
- Recruit, teach, train, and provide managerial support to staff, volunteers, and interns so that they can effectively perform this role.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for audio, video, front-of-house media, set up, and tear down.
- Optimize effectiveness and quality control throughout the media department. Review work thoroughly for accuracy, ensuring no errors, typos, or misalignments.
- Coordinate media campaigns with staff and teams.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of podcast content weekly.
- Stage design, construction, and implementation for Sunday, Midweek, monthly ministry gatherings, and special events productions when needed.
- Research and communicate AV needs. Submit a proposal for purchasing resources through the Director of Operations.
Online Content
o Maintain live stream hosting service and schedule weekly live streams. These will be on the website, Facebook, YouTube, and app.
o Oversee quality control and moderation of comments on all platforms.
o Create live stream slides/lyrics/announcements.
o Collaborate with the Media team on cameras and audio for live stream.
o Stay up to date on technology updates for live stream services.
o Upload weekly services the day of.
o Create and upload descriptions.
o Create or oversee the creation of thumbnails for Weekly Services.
o Review and edit monthly and special event recordings for timely publishing
o Organize playlists and videos as directed by leadership.
o Oversee the YouTube site, creating a look that promotes the church.
Pro Presenter
- Oversee the creation of a schedule for ProPresenter for all services and events, including reviewing, testing, and approving related workflows.
- Set up and create slides for Sunday Service, Bible Study, & Special events.
- Prepare song lyrics.
- Convert the Sermon or presenter’s notes into service slides.
- Collaborate with Leadership on overall vision and design for Services.
- Seek out best practices, tips, and training videos to ensure we maximize the functionalities of ProPresenter.
- Oversee the themes/backgrounds, fonts, style, etc., and selection for slides and videos.
- Create lower 3rds and oversee graphics related to weekly services/events
- Organized ProPresenter files in a structured format for seamless access.
- Create and utilize a checklist for weekly service tasks related to the successful execution of content for service, including Livestream.
- Track issues that arise weekly and report to the Director of Operations promptly. Establish a follow-up system to resolve problems before the next service/event.
- Allocate training time to ensure a complete understanding of ProPresenter and to maximize the use of the functionalities/features.
- Recruit and train staff/volunteers to assume tasks and responsibilities related to the role.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Read books and attend training as directed, which is part of our ongoing staff improvement plan.
- Seek out training materials to stay up-to-date with critical subjects related to the role.
- Advise leadership on technology updates/maintenance and work to implement promptly.
- And anything else deemed necessary to execute the church's vision, mission, and core values.

This four-step solution is required before bringing to leadership:
1. Write it down (this develops clarity).
2. Determine the causes (why and how did this occur?).
3. Identify the solutions (how can we solve this problem?).
4. Make a decision (which solution you think is best and why?).
- Be open to constructive feedback from direct oversight without being defensive or negative.
- Communicate promptly. Texts (or calls) from team members (especially direct oversight) should be responded to within 1 hour (when working), and emails should be replied to within 24 hours at the latest.
- Plan one month in advance for your department, set a meeting, submit plans by the 10th of each month for the coming month to the Director of Operations, and communicate to your team so they have plenty of time to prepare adequately.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and reliability.
- Work with honesty and integrity.
- Be on time all the time. Communicate early and promptly when schedule changes.
- Consistent tithing on income to the church.
- Follow set policies and procedures (see Matthew 18) when dealing with problems or issues.
- Complete yearly goals by assigned dates, providing deliverables along the way.
- Ability to manage a calendar of events, task list, and own work schedule with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to perform job requirements in a high-energy and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours on nights and weekends as needed

Qualifications Required:
- 1-5 years experience in a similar role in a church is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary studies or certification preferred.
- ProPresenter knowledge and experience are a must.
- Have a personal relationship with God and be committed to prayer and reading the Bible daily.
