Corporate Director of Engineering
Summary:
This position is responsible for overseeing the management of all Operational capital across the Company’s locations. The incumbent will develop annual and three-year capital plans, provide engineering support and expertise to the operations and maintenance teams as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing annual and three-year capital plans:
- Develop engineering and maintenance plans
- Identify process improvements
- Define individual projects
- Assign budgetary costs to projects
- Attend project support meetings
- Support other departments
- Manage financial controls associated with capital projects and support operations and maintenance through project implementation.
- Develop and implement capital projects:
- Oversee project concept
- Develop theory and sequence of operation
- Determine equipment needed
- Negotiate with vendors
- Coordinate with personnel
- Prepare capital expenditure reports
- Manage Operational capital across the Company’s locations.
- Ensure timely communication, execution, and delivery within budget of capital projects.
- Develop and maintain company engineering standards.
- Develop and maintain company process improvement standards.
- Promote and maintain corporate sustainability.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Experience:
- Must have at least seven years of experience in food manufacturing. Liquid batching processing preferred.
- Prefer experience in flour milling, dry mix manufacturing, fresh and frozen bakery and sweet good products.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have the ability to travel regularly to all facilities in North America. Up to 40% travel.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and project management skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
- Excellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have a hands-on work ethic along with the ability to think strategically about capital projects and their alignment with business objectives and strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervisory responsibilities include monitoring the performance of the Corporate Engineering Team. These responsibilities include making decisions on staffing needs, disciplinary actions, development and evaluation of work objectives and their effectiveness, and realigning projects and associates' assignments as necessary.
Pay: $150,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
