Position Overview
The Administrative & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in providing comprehensive project management support to drive the success of the Systems Change team's diverse portfolios, encompassing K-12, postsecondary, and workforce initiatives. This position is designed for an individual with a strong background in project management and coordination across initiatives with both internal teams and external stakeholders; database and information-systems management; and creating and managing diverse communications that capture impact and accomplishments, through newsletters, social media posts, data dashboards, press releases, weekly all-staff updates, and email correspondence. Reporting to the Director of Education Systems Strategy within UNITE-LA's Systems Change team, the Administrative & Communications Coordinator collaborates closely with a team of seven staff to support stakeholder management with education, workforce, and community-based organizations to drive forward various collaboratives dedicated to bridging equity gaps for Los Angeles area students.
Primary Responsibilities
The Administrative & Communications Coordinator will provide day-to-day support and administration across Systems Change team initiatives in the following ways:
· Project Management & Coordination: Support day-to-day management and coordination of various Systems Change team initiatives such as the Community Schools Initiative and Opportunity Youth Collaborative, including maintaining/developing project plans with timelines of deliverables and coordinating workflow and communications across external collaborative partners and consultants to accomplish objectives.
· Administrative Support: Coordinate and schedule meetings, document discussions and action items, send follow up emails and correspondence, ensure completion of tasks and action items, and follow up with internal and external partners, as needed.
· Communications Content & Strategy: Create communications-related content and co-develop strategy, in collaboration with UNITE-LA’s Marketing and Communication’s department, to effectively communicate the collective goals, vision, accomplishments, and impact of Systems Change Team initiatives. This includes quarterly L.A. Compact Connection newsletters, social media posts, press releases, data dashboard narratives, fact sheets, PowerPoints, website redesign, and weekly all-staff updates.
· Database & Research Management: Maintain relevant and updated records in UNITE-LA’s project and relationship management platforms like Asana, Salesforce, and SharePoint. Stay abreast of and report on local and regional activities and developments that impact Systems Change team initiatives.

· Multi-Project and Database Management: Manages multiple projects and work streams with overlapping timelines and requirements to completion. Creates and executes complex project plans for new and existing projects. Effectively manages personal workload and exercise judgement to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of project management software used to oversee project work plans and track grant deliverables.

· Excellent Written and Verbal Communication: Articulates thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively for the appropriate audiences. Create compelling narratives and content that effectively communicates our mission, initiatives, accomplishments, and impact.

Ensure delivery of high-quality work. Work products (e.g. reports, documents, files, etc.) are complete, accurate, timely and understandable.

Preferred Skills and Competencies
· Knowledge of and solid foundation in project management and CRM tools like Asana and Salesforce.
· Strong record of organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage tasks and workplans and prioritize work across multiple projects while maintaining quality of work.
· Working knowledge of education equity and/or youth development, institutional systems, and/or workforce sectors.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Google Drive applications, Canva, Adobe PDF, and social media platforms.
Compensation and 23.36 Position Details
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting hourly rate of $23.36 - $27.56 per hour (approximately $48,594 to $57,330 annually). While many staff continue to regularly work remotely, attendance at our downtown Los Angeles office is expected at least twice per month and occasional travel is required for partner meetings locally and for in- and out-of-state conferences.
