Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor at our Sunset Park studio provides essential day-to-day leadership, ensuring a seamless, safe, and efficient workflow. This role emphasizes maintaining high product quality, productivity, and staff satisfaction. Excellent communication skills, both digital and in person, are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Lead by example and inspire the team.
- Train and supervise teams to ensure adherence to SOPs.
- Manage Production and Post-Productions teams to maintain high standards of quality and productivity, and process improvement.
- Manage Inventory and Logistics teams to maintain inventory, costs and shipping timeliness.
- Serve as an HR resource for staff and leadership. (e.g. hiring additional associates or seasonal temp workers, maintaining staff schedule, approving timesheets and PTO requests, enforcing policies approved by leadership, recommending new policies to leadership)
- Lead onboarding for new hires.
- Provide Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reporting on Production & Shipping goals to leadership.
Operations Management:
- Manage work orders and inventory with our MRP software.
- Facilitate Production Order tasks to the team and maintain Asana boards.
- Order shipping materials for large retailer orders.
- Analyze demand patterns to determine optimal stock levels.
- Implement cost-saving measures to reduce inventory.
- Implement and uphold rigorous QC standards to ensure all products meet our brand's high-quality standards.
- Keeps the studio in a clean, organized order.
- Share safety protocols with the team and updates as needed.
- Ensure timely deliveries to customer schedules. Work closely with Production Lead to ensure timely delivery for scheduled orders.
- Communicate order issues and delays to our Account Management team.
- Continuously seek opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Update and/or create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
- Point of contact for building management.
- Work with outside vendors/suppliers.
Communication & Coordination:
- Communicate with departments using Asana, email and in person.
- Facilitate communication between departments.
- Be the liaison between the Leadership team and the Studio teams.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Operations preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to read and create spreadsheets regularly.
- Familiarity with Shopify, project management (Asana), inventory, and shipping software.
- Analytical and project management abilities.
- Dedication to process improvement and effective organization.
- Excellent time management skills and administrative competence.
- Team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
- Energetic self-starter with a passion for results.
