Our nurses work in pre-op and post-op areas admitting patients, performing assessments recovering patients from anesthesia and providing education to patients on discharge. We provide on the job training, instruction and orientation. We are open regular business hours M-F, no nights, weekends or holidays. We are offering four 10 hour days, typical hours are 6:30am-5pm.
Must be proficient in IV insertion. Must be vaccinated for Covid 19.
ACLS certification preferred
Assists with inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the admission area
Maintains order and cleanliness of PreOp/Admitting area
Actively participates as a team member in support of the total pre-anesthesia care process
Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to prepare the pre-procedure area , recovery room/PACU area according to requirements
Administers medication(s) per order of physician
Accurately comprehends and interprets physician orders and direction
Works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of patient care
Evaluates patient condition and maintains accurate documentation during pre-anesthesia period
Using the nursing assessment, monitors, and reports any observed abnormalities to the other members of the healthcare team
Documents patient-care records and other forms accurately, legibly and in a timely manner, following policies and procedures
Proactively participates as a team member in support of the total post-anesthesia care process
Utilize the nursing process to perform safe and individualized nursing care, in the immediate post-anesthesia period
Monitors patient condition and maintains accurate documentation during post-anesthesia period
Monitors and reports any abnormal observed complications to the anesthesia provider and physician
Reviews post-procedure instructions including medication reconciliation and follow-up physician appointment with patient and responsible adult
Determines and documents patient and responsible adult understanding of the discharge instructions and indications for seeking emergent care
